frequently asked questions

"what is suitable for my heavy/moderate/light chewer?"
we have created specific sections that suits each different chew style - tap on "shop all" on our header to see the different categories!

"what are the benefits of these chews/organs?"
chewing helps in releasing dopamine in the dogs brain, relaxing them and giving them a safe and delicious outlet for their energy. teething puppies especially need to chew to soothe their gums, so these chews save your toes and furniture too!
our dehydrated organ treats are iron rich and high value - we do caution against feeding TOO MUCH, but in moderation, these make nutrient rich treats.

"why are some chews furry? is it safe for them to ingest the fur?"
fur on chews and treats provide a different textural experience for them. For some dawgs, it even unlocks their prey drive! The fur on the animal part itself is edible and safe for ingestion - but in moderation! These are insoluble fibres and if given in excess, might cause obstruction.

"my dogs are chonky, can they still have chews?"
yes they can! however we recommend our light calorie chews like tracheas or ears, and only provide them 1-2x a week to manage caloric intake.

"can I feed chews daily?"
it depends on the dog but we do recommend giving a chew only once every 2-3 days to manage caloric intake.

"how do I store half-chewed chews?"
air drying them or sun drying them is best - once they are completely dry, you can keep them out of reach of the dog but exposed to air, or you can keep it in a ziploc bag in the fridge. Some however (like hooves) we recommend to keep in freezer.

"are all bone-in chews dangerous?"
not all of them! We specifically pick non-dense, non-weight bearing bone-in chews to dehydrated. Bones like neck or feet are easily pliable and therefore are at no risk to cause an obstruction. However we always recommend to observe as they chew!

"what's the best way to store chews if they are in paperbags when I purchased them?"
the fridge is the best! Otherwise, an air-tight container kept in a cool, dry cupboard.

"can I leave chews with my dog when I'm not around?"
some dogs would be fine, the dogs that don't know how to stop cannot be left unsupervised, and all chews must be taken away. But overall, we ALWAYS recommend any chew session to be supervised to prevent choking or obstruction.

"which chews are suitable for sensitive stomach/skin?"
each dog has their own sensitivities, so it boils down to what they are okay with. In terms of sensitive stomach however, we recommend our lower fat chews like ears or necks, so as to not aggravate the stomach lining.
